To begin with the void between Liverpool and Plymouth Argyle felt appropriate as Lymmouth were under the cosh. It was only really after the 1st goal that we got a period of dominance. The second goal saw the start of pressure from the Lymmerpool attack. A draw would have been a fair result, but we're not going to turn away the 3 points.

What's happened to man of the match? I've voted for Super Harry's goal line heroics. I also wanted to pay my respects to Diving David Ward for his theatrics.

i along with others am getting bored and frustrated with 16 against 16. we need a limit This was discussed last night at the Farmers. We have had the debate on the forum before, but nothing has been formally decided, unless the decision was to play one game on the full pitch regardless of numbers. Records do not indicate that we have ever reached 16-a-side though. We have placed a restriction on recruitment of new members though. This should remain until numbers are substantially lower. I would be happy for the decision to be made on a weekly basis by the incumbent managers, so if you have strong views on this subject, cast your vote with your manager. The decision is a difficult one because, as happened last night, we started with a manageable 13 players against 12. Adie arrived shortly after 9pm, and we went up to 28 players when Darren and Steve arrived at around 9.30pm. So the decision to play full pitch was correct at the start of the game. Things got a bit congested half way through. And if you thought things were bad at the Lymmerpool goal, be thankful you weren’t one of the 3 attackers or 8 defenders at the gridlocked other end. Given that at 9.05pm when we generally get going, numbers are normally manageable, some suggestions are as follows: - Maximum 13-a-side with managers arranging rotating substitutions of any additional players.
- Split into 2 games when we reach 28 players.
- Put everyone on a refereeing rota (would reduce numbers by 1 a week and there’d be no more arguing about offsides, whose throw etc.)
- Arrange 2 Lymm Dads nights.
- Introduce economics into the equation. Increase prices to reduce demand.
One further thought. Now that the pitch is free before we use it, and until Wimbledon starts there will be little interest in tennis, we could use the pitch F.O.C. from 8.30pm for the next few weeks. Let’s aim to arrive at 8.45pm so that we can get a prompt start, and more footy.
